My Bridal Shower!

My Bridal Shower!

I am still floating on a happy cloud of pink candy, ocean views, and strawberries fizzing in champagne. This past Sunday was my bridal shower at the Allegria Hotel on Long Beach and the women who planned it absolutely killed the game. I wanted to share some photos with you guys, as well as some of my favorite highlights.

To start, the party was a big surprise but I did know the date, so I was able to plan my outfit. I wanted to wear something that was fun and fresh, but still bridal. I bought everything earlier in the summer, so unfortunately most of these items are now harder to find or sold out... but if you really love one of the items, try checking eBay or theRealReal! You might get lucky! My dress was the "Mikaela" by Alexis in white, which I fell in love with immediately upon seeing it. The floral cutouts, the ruffles, the flattering design, it just felt right. My dress had a keyhole back, so I wanted my hair up to showcase that. I was inspired by Sienna Miller and did a woven braid on the top with a soft, loose bun in the back. And then for my favorite part, the accessories... anyone who knows me already knows that big earrings are my JAM. I wore these clips by Marni, because I loved the red + beige colors, which matched my sparkly rose gold shoes. The shoes are called "Leila" by Aquazurra. Full pics below!

Many hellos and a few bites of delicious food later, we played some games that I'd like to share with you. One involved a bunch of photos (on a poster board) of me throughout the years. Friends had to guess how old I was in each photo, and the person who guessed the most right got a prize :) What surprised me most was how many I got wrong myself! I guess I've been good at looking older since I was like...8.

Then we played the newlywed game, where Sofya (my MOH) asked me the answers to questions that she'd already asked Brandon like "what candy describes your relationship" and "what is one annoying habit of yours that Brandon can't stand?" It was really funny to answer these questions in front of the crowd and let me just say, a little champagne never hurts when you're in the hot-seat. In case you're wondering the answers: hershey kisses + that I always make 5PM appointments on Fridays when we're trying to leave the city. Oops.

deep in thought....

at least my friends think I'm funny

Afterwards, my bridesmaids gave me the best gift EVER. They each gave me a bottle of wine with a tag on it that said something like "first fight," "first anniversary," "first baby," etc. Each bridesmaid gave me one bottle of wine and read a poem that was written on it. It was so sweet and special and obviously I cried. A lot.

look at the adorable poems written on the cards *swoon*

Moving on to gifts, we opened a few and created a hat with all of the bows, which was hilarious and fun! My aunt helped craft the hat into a fashion statement and I took the liberty of tying my seat tag onto my waist as a belt. It was avant-garde, high fashion if I do say so myself...

The candy bar was a HUGE hit and I loved the color combination of pink & white. Plus, there were strawberry laffy-taffys which are my favorite treat from childhood! A round of applause to Brandon's mom Karen who made the whole thing!!!

The favors were little bags filled with spa treats so that everyone can pamper themselves before the big day. Inside was a little hair towel, a face mask, some other cute grooming tools, and the best part: the essie nail polish. The colors were "she said yes" and "tying the knotie!" I can't even. The attention to detail was really above and beyond.

Finally, before we all went home happy as clams and high from the champagne and sugar, Brandon stopped by with both of our dads. Cue: more tears.

I hope you enjoyed seeing photos from my shower, and that these ideas spark some creativity for your next celebration! A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially my mom, Karen, and Sofya! I love you all so much.
