Hiya! I'm Jane. Thanks for visiting my internet home. A bit about me:
I’m a born-and-raised New Yorker currently living in Brooklyn, with my husband Brandon and our adorable puppy Maui. I grew up here (albeit a bit further south) in a loud, wonderful, crazy Jewish family.
For 5 years I worked in advertising sales, and in November of 2018, I left to start my own food business, Scraps. In my free time I love to cook, do yoga, hang out with my loved ones, travel to quirky towns and mystical places, and explore this beautiful city I’m lucky enough to call home.
This blog was started for many reasons, mostly to document how I find balance and bliss in everyday life; to celebrate the little things and decode the sticky questions. Life in your 20s is so weird and wonderful because you really don't know what's coming, and you've got so much to figure out. For me, I'm figuring out how to handle working full-time while running a blog and having hobbies and making time for friendships and relationships. Sound familiar? The articles that I write are here to help me, and maybe you, deal with all the growing up we're doing these days. Whether you want to learn how to roast a chicken, decide how much money to spend on a wedding gift, or discover where to eat an amazing brunch in New Orleans, you'll find all my secrets here.
Oh, and the name! It was really hard for me to pick one and then I decided to stop looking in, and instead, look out. The name of this blog is about you. I want you to be like family when you come here. Make yourself comfortable, feel free to discuss anything that's on your mind. I thank you so very much, for choosing to spend your free time reading what I have to say. I cannot express how grateful I am. I’d love to hear your comments, questions, and thoughts. Readers regularly e-mail me for etiquette advice, to suggest article topics, share a recipe they love, and more. Nothing makes me happier than your participation in the community I’m building.
